It all sounds brilliant, but where is the money coming from?

Cultivate is part of a community interest company called the Real Ideas Organisation. Check out their website www.realideas.org.

Through RiO and various other funding streams there is some 'seed' funding for Cultivate to get activities up and running in each area but the emphasis is on sustainability - communities generating their own revenue, sourcing their own funding and linking into local businesses and organisations to make their projects work. Take a look at the individual activity updates on the website to see how this is working.

By doing it this way Cultivate hopes to not only trigger cultural activity across Cornwall but to ensure that each community takes an entrepreneurial approach to their activity, and a sense of pride and ownership in it. It also means that should any of the activities make money they can keep it and reinvest in in the development and continuation of their activity.
