Newquay Cultivate is Rocking |
|
Newquay Cultivate is underway and buzzing, with young people moving their ideas from dreams to reality. After only three meetings the Newquay Cultivate group are well on the way to shaking things up in their local community. With 8 to 15 members aged between 15 to 22 years, the Newquay Cultivatees are a force to be reckoned with, and are full of ideas for creative projects they can initiate and deliver within their local community.
After only one session the group had decided they wanted to make a film, record a music video and organise and run their own under 18’s band night in the town. With so many musicians and bands in the group already the Newquay Cultivatees are focussing their attentions on organising the band night first. Newquay Treviglas Community College’s rock band, Breathe are taking the lead on this project, and are keen to secure a venue ASAP where under 18’s like themselves, can play regularly. Breathe - Kyle, Callum, Tom and Lobster, are being shadowed by their very own film crew, (broadcasting students from University College Falmouth) who are making a documentary about the band.
Newquay Cultivate meet at Café Irie on Thursday nights between 6pm and 8pm, and would like to see more people getting involved in the group. If you’re interested in coming along, or just want more info about Newquay Cultivate then please call Ellen on 07969 023 983, or email
