Graffiti, Film and Dance at Oasis?

Local young people come up with some exciting ideas for their town.

About 30 local young people came to Oasis on 11 May to take part in a graffiti workshop, try their hand at mixing and be interviewed in the Vent Tent.  They were asked what it was like to live in Lostwithiel, what they did with their spare time and what activities and projects they would like to get involved with in the future.  There were lots of suggestions for improved sporting facilities including another pool table, a dart board, boxing ring and relocating Lostwithiel to the coast so that they could do water sports without any transport issues!  Also there were several requests for dance classes and lots of ideas for making films.  Many said that they enjoyed the spray painting and if they could do more and had a wall of their own, they wouldn't be tempted to do it around town!
Research has already begun into the cost of spray paints, boards and local sponsorship for a series of graffiti workshops over the summer and there will be a meeting on 26th June to discuss the film ideas in more detail where we'll be joined by Max Hepworth-Povey from Chew TV.
