On the 3^rd July 2009 Bude Youth Project's Friday night music group put on an informal gig on the beach for a small crowd of local supporters. With the help of Cultivate, who've been filming the process, and the Youth Centre staff, the group fulfilled a longtime ambition to take their music outside and play on the beach.

Several groups and many individuals contributed to the informal acoustic line-up, playing both original and self composed songs on guitars to an enthusiastic audience. Many of the people who played the gig had never played live before and had composed songs specifically to play on the night.

Local band Cruxx http://www.myspace.comcruxxmusic/ ended the acoustic set with 3 original songs and a cover. As well as the gig on the beach Cruxx are also hoping to make a music video for their MySpace page with the help of Cultivate in the Autumn. Cruxx had planned to support Breathe, the up and coming Newquay group, on their 15 date UK tour, but due to it's cancellation are now available for gigs in August and September.

Many of the bands who played on the 3^rd July as part of the gig on the beach have also be invited to play at a local Charity event later in the summer, giving them another chance to play their music to an even bigger audience.
