It was really great to see so many keen and interested people at the Seaton Beach Café on Wed 21st May for Cultivate Downderry.

About forty turned up and had a say in what they would like to see happening in the Downderry area - which includes  Seaton, Narkurs and St.Germans.

A lot of valuable enthusiasm produced several ideas for projects. The main need seems to be a youth club or at least a building where young people can congregate and have a regular session doing what they would like to do. At the moment the Seaton Beach Café is really the only location that can be used and we are all grateful to Nicky Berry for her generosity in letting us use the Café after hours.

Other suggestions were for a dance club, a karate workshop, a skate park and a children's water sports club.

A recent resident in Downderry, Helen Brogan, came to offer her expertise in film making. Helen has worked professionally in the commercial film business and has experience in script writing, production, editing and all the skills necessary for film making.  Helen took details of the Chew TV website in which she was very interested.

With Chris Harris showing how to make graffiti images on boards in the car park and Paul Taylor instructing in DJ mixing and getting the beats in the right tempo, there was a lot of fun and interest gong on in these two activities. The graffiti workshop was such a hit that Chris will be coming back on Wed 4^th June to carry on with an inventive session of visual art.
