Capturing Cultivate

Cultivate will be working with University College Falmouth Broadcasting students on the documentation of Cultivate activity.

As part of University College Falmouth’s second year students’ course, Cultivate will provide a ‘live brief’, working with the College in a client-supplier relationship to give students an experience of professional brief delivery. In doing so, Cultivate will benefit from the skills, expertise and originality of the students who will be applying their knowledge of film and broadcasting to the documentation of the project. On top of that, working with University College Falmouth in this way, Cultivate will contribute towards the professional learning opportunities available for undergraduates in Cornwall, something the College prides itself on.

The content and format of the live brief is yet to be confirmed but could include anything from video streams on the Cultivate website and live studio based discussion programmes, to radio features, short films and profiles – combining to accurately document the activity that the communities involved in Cultivate will undertake.

Cultivate would also like to develop the opportunities for young people to get involved in the documentation of the project through filming, potentially positioning young people from each community project as commissioning clients working directly with the students, or by offering shadowing and collaboration opportunities.

Watch this space for more details as the live brief unfolds.
