Capturing Cultivate Update

The University College Falmouth Capturing Cultivate project got well and truly underway last week as level 2 BA broadcasting students were allocated activity areas to document.

The documentation of Cultivate activity will be completed by students studying at UCF as part of their summer term documentary module. This will allow the process of documenting Cultivate to feed directly back into the growth and development of young people in Cornwall, enabling students of UCF to not only build their professional practice skills in the delivery of a live brief, but also to build connections with young people, professionals and organisations within the county and beyond.
Teams of three students will be charged with capturing the activity on each of the projects; Caradon Hill, Downderry, Lostwithiel, Newquay, Wadebridge and Young Promoters (which covers Bude, Looe, Penryn and St Austell) working with the communities and young people involved to find out exactly how Cultivate is working and to what degree young people feel empowered and active within their community as a result.

The final films will be shown at a screening event in July, were the young people and communities involved in all the projects will have the opportunity to watch the documentaries and discuss the filming process and the outcome with the students.
