Another great meeting, 6 June

Another successful get together took place at the Seaton Beach Café on Wednesday 4th June and with a greater attendance than before.

We now have about 30 willing young people who are keen to get some activities going and the majority of ideas resulted in an almost universal demand for a Youth Club.

We have been pleased to formed a partnership with the South East Cornwall Surf Club -SECSC -and these dedicated wave riders welcome any young people into their club and train them in the ways of surfing as well as life saving and general beach safety. For those who are not so keen to take to the water many requested a skate park. So we are going to form a club to cater for all tastes. We asked for a name and the results were interesting - The Kick Flip Club, The Radical Movement Club, The Extreme Rated Club etc were all good examples. A vote will need to confirm the final choice.

Nicky Berry, who runs the Seaton Beach Café is keen to offer the facilities there one day a week in the dark months of the off season to hold club meetings.

The plan is to stage a show, an entertainment, in Seaton in August to raise funds to get things started.

All potential performers, competitors and helpers are now being recruited to make this beach show  memorable  and with the help of a few more Performing Arts students from Looe School we should have a great day ahead of us. The SECSC have promised to hold a "paddleathon", a surf competition is the surf is up and a skating event. We plan music, dance and anything else on offer.

If you would like to take part in performing, fund- raising, stage managing, selling etc, please get in touch with Rick Worthy. He is on 07855 485727 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Our next meeting is next week at 6pm on Wed 11th June at the Seaton Beach Café with Max from Chew TV, Chris the graffiti artist and Paul the DJ. Come and join in!
